About Jamie

The West End's resident murder mystery author!

Jamie is a CWA Dagger shortlisted author who has a twenty year career in London’s West End and has worked on far too many plays and musicals to mention here!

A love for both theatre history and a good murder mystery is what has inspired his Bertie Carroll series, set in 1930s theatreland.

His first novel, Death on the Pier, was published in October 2022, going on to become an Amazon Best Seller and Chat Magazine's Book of the Month.

Murder at the Matinee, the eagerly anticipated second book in the series, came out 5th September 2024 also becoming an Amazon Best Seller and has been shortlisted for The CWA Whodunnit Dagger Award 2025.

He continues to split his time between writing and working in the theatre.

Jamie has appeared on panels and events including Newcastle Noir, Capital Crime, Crime Central, Faversham Literary Festival and Farnham Literary Festival. He has also been a guest on a number of podcasts to talk about his books, crime fiction, Agatha Christie’s plays and his writing process.
